Elizabeth Bananuka

BME PR Pros: Founder
Elizabeth Bananuka is a senior communications consultant with an in-house and agency background and experience in a range of sectors including fintech, personal finance, tech, legal, youth, education, not for profit, international development, health, media, housing and the arts. Elizabeth draws on her vast experience in medico-legal, healthcare, education and international development to deliver crisis communications training for a range of organisations.

Elizabeth is the founder of BME PR Pros which she describes as “one person’s little attempt to promote diversity in the sector”. She developed and manages every aspect of the initiative in her spare time including the popular BME PR Pros / PRWeek Mentoring Scheme, the website (which she likes to point out "has had had more than 200k hits all through organic growth in a 16-month period") and all social media channels (she takes full credit for the Daniel Kaluuya gifs). She has held BME PR Pro events (with all BME panels), delivered diversity workshops for agencies including Weber Shandwick and lobbied industry publications to diversify their judging panels, speakers and commentators. Future plans for BME PR Pros include what Elizabeth describes as “a big scary idea” as well as the first BME PR Pros conference in November '19 (she stresses it will have all BME speakers but won't be about diversity), more web content, more initiatives and “the inevitable” podcast.
