UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment: Director of Government Communications

Ms. Taif Mohammad Al Amiri is the Director of Government Communication Department at the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE). She Leads and mentors a team of 16 employees to achieve the department’s goals. She Works closely with the Minister and other high-ranking officials on all communications engagements, and proactively suggests new opportunities that align with the Ministry’s communication strategy.

Al Amiri began her career journey in 2010 as Communication specialist- Strategy and International Affairs Department at the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority. She was responsible for organizing events and exhibitions, media buying, pitching interviews, internal communications, branding, and social media awareness campaigns.

In 2012, she joined the Office of the Foreign Minister, Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation as the Media & Agenda Specialist (Attaché). She managed all communication activities of the Foreign Minister, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al Nahyan, on the national and international scale, including official visits, conferences, press conferences and media briefings.

In 2013, she was nominated by MoFAIC to work as an Emirati diplomat expert on the Third Committee (Social, Humanitarian and Cultural) of the General Assembly at the United Nations headquarters for four months.

In 2014, she took over the position of Green Growth Analyst at the Directorate of Energy and Climate Change where she managed all activities of the Global Green Growth Institute’s regional office at Masdar City, and represented the country at the Global Green Growth Institute Council and Assembly meetings in South Korea.

Al Amiri holds Bachelor Degree of Arts and Sciences in Mass Communication and Public Relations from the American University of Sharjah (AUS), in 2009 and currently a Master student in Marketing, Advertising and communication at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi.
