Azmar Sukandar

The Nature Conservancy: Director of Strategic Communications and Marketing, Asia Pacific Region

Based in Hong Kong, Azmar Sukandar oversees internal and external communications strategies for TNC's Asia Pacific region. She works closely with senior executives as well as global and in-country teams to engage key stakeholders and increase awareness about TNC to target audiences and potential partners, raise the visibility for Asia Pacific projects, and enhance the cohesiveness of issues and crisis management as well as messaging across the region. Prior to joining TNC, Azmar set up the Asia Pacific communications office for the Financial Times, worked with Time and FORTUNE magazines, and spent time with Microsoft's MSN division. She holds a B.A. in International Relations and B.Sc. in Communications from Boston University, and a master's degree in media and communications from the London School of Economics. Azmar is a founding board member and current Vice President of the Asia Pacific Association of Communication Directors, a regional a network of senior in-house communications professionals.
